Day 2 What’s your Bedtime Reading Ritual?

15 Day Blogger Book Challenge: Day 2 What’s your Bedtime Reading Ritual?

This isn’t a very exciting question / answer for me. I have a stack of books by my bed, but one has already been chosen. The others are “in waiting.” I get ready for bed, get in bed, read a chapter of a book. That’s about it. If I really like the book, I get it during the day to read, too. Otherwise, it’s just a chapter a night, which is why I’m such a slow reader I guess.

Currently I’m reading Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. I saw her speak on a panel at RT 2013 in Kansas City, and she was really funny, so I got her to sign a copy of her book. The book isn’t necessarily funny like her, but has its moments. It’s a YA fantasy set with a Russian sort of feel, so different than anything I’ve read before. I am enjoying it and read it a lot over the weekend and not just at bedtime, so that’s a good sign.

When I’m done, I’ll write a quick review of whatever I’m reading for the author, unless it was a DNF ,and I didn’t like it. I just keep those to myself unless asked. I don’t think authors should trash other authors in public. It could come back to bite you. Then I agonize over what’s up next. I’m trying to work through some of the authors who have reviewed Speak of the Devil for me as sort of a quid pro quo, so I’ll probably grab one of their books next.

That’s about it! Do you have one?
