Today I thought I’d interview the cover model for my book Speak of the Devil to celebrate its release. Everyone, meet Ali! Click here for a few shots of her from Cover Me, Darling.
How did you get into cover modeling? How long have you been doing it?
My husband’s cousin was doing a few covers and told Marisa [from Cover Me, Darling] about my past in modeling. I have not been modeling for covers long.
How old are you (just curious since you’re on my young adult cover, you don’t have to answer )?
I am 25 years old.
How many covers are you on?
I am on 5 covers so far.
Do you read the books whose covers your on?
I just got one that I am on and hoping to get a chance to sit down and read it.
Which cover is your favorite?
One with my husband, I just love seeing him and I together
Are you a big reader? What kind of books / genres do you like?
I do enjoy reading, I really like reading mysteries. I like being on the edge of my seat.
Is modeling a full time job? If not, what do you do for a living?
Modeling is not my full time job. I work in daycare and in April I will be welcoming my first baby, so at that point I will be a stay at home mom.
What does a photo shoot look like… schedule wise, like a day in the life of a cover model?
Cover modeling is different from other modeling I have done. Cover model isn’t easy, its just more one on one with a vision already in mind. Mostly just a half day of taking pictures to suit a cover.
Have you had any embarrassing/awkward cover model incidences?
Taking photos with my husband is fun, but it can be odd to hold a kiss for longer then you usually do if front of someone or staring at each other trying not to laugh.
Do you remember the shoot for the image we used for Speak of the Devil and that I plan on using for the other two books in the series? If so can you tell us about that?
Yes, we actually took those images in my hometown, some were even taken in my dad’s backyard in the woods. I really enjoy being in front of a camera so spending a day getting tons of pictures is a blast for me.
Thanks for doing this! I love the pics Marisa has of you and they are perfect for my books!
